About Bass Basics
Hello, and welcome to the first set of free lessons on this website, bass basics. Covering all that is needed to start playing.
These lessons are for beginner bassists who have just started playing bass or are thinking about learning the bass guitar. Bassists who have been playing many years still may learn something from this section as some people may not class all of these lessons as basic. I have tried to cover all the basics there is, from buying your first bass to even naming the parts on your bass, I have also included miscellaneous things involving bass guitar such as hearing loss, etc.
If you are a beginner I would suggest that you read throughout these sections carefully so you have a good idea what’s what with bass, because as a bassist it's essential you start out on the right path with the correct knowledge so you don’t have draw backs later on in your bass playing and making mistakes which could have easily been avoided. What you choose now will affect your bass playing throughout your life and these bass basics are what will keep you on the right track when playing the bass.
